Unique European Walking Tours
For nearly 40 years, Country Walkers has helped travelers explore the world “one step at a time.” Today, the company is recognized as one of the leading providers of walking adventures worldwide, having garnered countless awards including National Geographic Traveler’s “50 Tours of a Lifetime” and Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best” Awards.
In order to drive awareness about Country Walkers’ European tours, the team directed us to find new angles to talk about older yet still beloved tours and to promote the new 2018 offerings. First, we focused on a key point of difference Country Walkers delivers to guests:
hand-selected, extraordinary local guides that ensure an authentic, immersive experience on every tour. We promoted a unique husband-and-wife Czech guiding couple who lead Country Walkers “Czech Republic: Vienna to Prague” tour, generating two feature articles in travel-trade publications, Travel Age West and Travel Pulse, whose sites are aimed at travel professionals.
Second, we capitalized on interest from the US Tour Operators Association about the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to promote to the Country Walkers’ oldie-but-goodie, self-guided tour of The Cotswolds as the couple rumored to be house hunting in the region, netting us a mention on the USTOA blog. Finally, we partnered with USTOA to send a writer on the new “Portugal: Porto to Lisbon” tour, resulting in two feature slideshows on the USTOA blog and a feature-length post about the trip in AFAR.
